Please. What can I do to stop this driveway feud between my parents and my neighbor?

i live in a subdivision where each house has at least 10 acres of land. I’ve lived here for a little over 5 years. About two years ago our neighbor started building his house, no problems. last year before summer vacation. he took his backhoe and started to cut trees down on my (parent’s) land. now this is key he did this WITHOUT MY PARENT’S PERMISSION!!! also we have another neighbor who used our driveway because he lives behind us and has no other way out. anyway i don’t believe that the neighbor cutting trees asked this neighbor. if that makes sense. in other words he just started cutting trees down on his own with no permission. anyway he finished connecting his land to my driveway. so there is a pathway from my driveway to his land. why? obviously to use my driveway. i don’t understand this because he already has a driveway, why use mine? my parents have sent him a letter a loooong time ago no response. we’ve put yellow caution/do not enter tape in the middle of the pathway. and he has cut through them twice. the second time was actually yesterday. i did not see him do this but who else would. my parents have talked with another neighbor who said at least 5 feet of land from our driveway is ours. so in other words he could cut trees down all he wants until he gets 5 feet from our driveway. Can we sue him? or at least do something where the law will take care of this because the yellow tape sure as hell isn’t. i honestly don’t know what to do because it is up to my parents but i would really like to see what you have to say. hopefully some suggestions and personal experiences will help me and my parents take care of this situation. Thank you.
Wendy: we talked to one neighbor. that’s hardly gossip.plus he’s already been in trouble with the county. now that the whole neighborhood know. i honestly don’t think he’s innocently cutting trees down.
however thank you all for your quick responses. hopefully my parents will call an attorney after i show them this. thank you.

I need Help quick. I have been trying to do this question and it is kicking my butt. anyone please!?

I want to construct an underground tunnel between my house and garage…is this possible?

I am building a garage in central IL (farmland), separate from the house, and I want to create an underground tunnel going from my basement out to my garage.

I was thinking about using a backhoe to dig an enormous trench between the basement and where the foundation of the garage is going to be poured, and actually bury sections of 5-foot diameter steel commercial drainage tunnel that I can acquire through a contractor buddy of mine. I am going to cut a door into the cinderblocks in my basement and run the tunnel through to the garage, where I will have it come up through the floor.

Any contractors out there feel that this might be unsafe? I’m in a very rural part of town, and there aren’t too many strict building codes that I know of that outlaw this.
Thanks for the responses everybody!

I hadn’t thought about the possibility of water getting in there. What if set the 5′ wide drainage tubes on a bed of gravel, and then drilled some small holes into the bottom of the tube to drain any leaks into the gravel. This tunnel will be sealed off from the basement through a door, by the way.

Also, I want to put in the tunnel simply because I think it would be cool and different. I have a backhoe and this is my first building-from-scratch project. This small tunnel wouldn’t see lots of use except for bad weather.

Any more suggestions as to how I can make this work?

Can you give a brand new meaning to this word “BACKHOE”?

and also use it in a sentence. Thanks! WEE!
No no no. I said brand new meaning. Please don’t make it very obvious. Huhu!
