What is a simple, inexpensive way for me to find a leak in my water line without digging up my whole yard?
I know I have a leak in my main water line somewhere under my yard from the water main in the street to my house (because when I turn off the water to the house itself, the water meter still spins). The plumber wants to dig up my entire yard with a backhoe and charge me thousands of dollars to find the darn leak. That strikes me as using a rocket when a BB gun would do as well. Isn’t there any simpler, less expensive way of finding a leak ?
Ant tips on running a new sewer line from my house?
This weekend I have a backhoe guy coming and will run a a new sewer line from my house to the main sewer because the clay pipe has collapsed. iI only plan on doing about half of the line to cut down on expense. I plan on using the rubber “boots” on both ends to convert to 4″ plastic. any tips from someone who has experience in this?
I have to replace my sewer line by digging up the backyard-should I be concerned about the ground being to wet?
I was told that i could start this job using a backhoe that was large enough but that if there are going to be heavy rains i may want to wait because the ground could be to wet at times to continue working. Is that a real concern or will the right equipment solve this and allow the work to continue
