The new Fish and Game cop Don,t. think so. Should I show him my New Shotgun and my Old Backhoe???
How do I get my oldest son stop picking on everyone in the house?
My oldest son just turned seventeen years old not long ago. He’s in very good shape for his age. He’s a state champion in wrestling and did quite well in swimming and run cross county, and is training for iron man contest. He also already has 9 credits from community college and is at top 50 of his class. So of course he’s very careful about what he eats, how he looks, and everything.
My daughter who is fifteen and my younger son who is twelve is opposite. My daughter and younger son are perfectly happy to stay home, watch television, play video game, and being on the computer. Also they are quite fond of sweet and junk foods which I try to limit.
My oldest son is always picking on them about this. He has complained that my younger son is getting chubby and my daughter is fat, blaming it on their life style. He also is always saying that if I keep this up, one day one of them will be carried out of their house on backhoe because they’re too fat.
Other day when my sister was here to visit us, my daughter was complaining that mosquito bit her a lot. My son hearing this, he replied “yeah may if you didn’t eat so much sweet, they wouldn’t bother you” This is kind of antic he’d pull off almost every time he open his mouth.
A couple months ago when we were on vacation at beach, my son bought a bodyboard to use at the beach which he offered to let my youngest son try. When my younger son didn’t show any interest, my old son throws a fit and blaming it on everybody encouraging the whole family to live a horrible lifestyle and being lazy. He always does this every time my youngest son doesn’t show interest in physical activity or unusual toys.
He’s also always calling them lazy and say television has rot their brain so much that they have no idea how to live. He also always talk to me about how he’s really convinced that television has fried their brain and point out thing such as how they’d not pay attention to their surrounding until commercial or something. I don’t know if he’s being serious or not, but he do it in a such serious manner that it is scary. He has even asked me to throw television out. Sometime he’d screw television up so it doesn’t work then wait for one of them turn on television and laugh as he watch them getting upset and throw fits.
This is making me so mad; I am getting frustrated with his attitude toward his sibling. I and my husband is always yelling at him about this and he’d just laugh and try to lead us into a argument about if other kids are actually leading a good life style. I don’t know what to do any more, I’m at my wits end.
A reply to “Joe the Plumber” an echo of my own life, what do you think ?
This is the real reason why you don’t want to vote for Obama. He just doesn’t understand.
Given the furor about “Joe the plumber” I’ve written an open letter to Mr.
Obama myself. I think it is worth the read. Maybe if Americans could take a closer look at what a small businessman is, they wouldn’t want politicians penalizing their success. Feel free to forward it if you want…
Cory
Mr. Obama,
Given the uproar about the simple question asked you by Joe the plumber, and the persecution that has been heaped on him because he dared to question you, I find myself motivated to say a few things to you myself.
While Joe aspires to start a business someday, I already have started not one, but 4 businesses. But first, let me introduce myself. You can call me “Cory the well driller”. I am a 54 year old high school graduate. I didn’t go to college like you, I was too ready to go “conquer the world” when I finished high school. 25 years ago at age 29, I started my own water well drilling business at a time when the economy here in East Texas was in a tailspin from the crash of the early 80’s oil boom. I didn’t get any help from the government, nor did I look for any. I borrowed what I could from my sister, my uncle, and even the pawn shop and managed to scrape together a homemade drill rig and a few tools to do my first job.
My businesses did not start as a result of privilege. They are the result
of my personal drive, personal ambition, self discipline, self reliance,
and a determination to treat my customers fairly. From the very start my business provided one other (than myself) East Texan a full time job. I couldn’t afford a backhoe the first few years (something every well drilling business had), so I and my helper had to dig the mud pits that are necessary for each and every job with hand shovels. I had to use my 10 year old, 1/2 ton pickup truck for my water tank truck (normally a job for at least a 2 ton truck).
A year and a half after I started the business, I scraped together a
20% down payment to get a modest bank loan and bought a (28 year) old, worn out, slightly bigger drilling rig to allow me to drill the deeper water wells in my area. I spent the next few years drilling wells with the rig while simultaneously rebuilding it between jobs. Through these years I never knew from one month to the next if I would have any work or be able to pay the bills. I got behind on my income taxes one year, and spent the next two years paying that back (with penalty and interest) while keeping up with ongoing taxes. I got behind on my water well supply bill 2 different years (way behind the second time… $80,000.00), and spent over a year paying it back (each time) while continuing to pay for ongoing supplies C.O.D.. Of course, the personal stress endured through these experiences and years is hard to measure. I do have a stent in my heart now to memorialize it all.
I spent the next 10 years developing the reputation for being the most
competent and most honest water well driller in East Texas . 2 years along
the way, I hired another full time employee for the drilling business so
that we could provide full time water well pump service as well as the well drilling. Also, 3 years along the path, I bought a water well screen service machine from a friend, starting business # 2. 5 years later I made a business loan for $100,000.00 to build a new, higher production, computer controlled screen service machine. I had designed the machine myself, and it didn’t work out for 3 years so I had to make the loan payments without the benefit of any added income from the new machine. No government program was there to help me with the payments, or to help me sleep at night as I lay awake wondering how I would solve my machine problems or pay
my bills. Finally, after 3 years, I got the screen machine working
properly, and that provided another full time job for an East Texan in the
screen service business.
2 years after that, I made another business loan, this time for
$250,000.00, to buy anot her used drilling rig and all the support equipment needed to run another, larger, drill rig. This provided another 2 full time jobs for East Texans. Again, I spent a couple of years not knowing if I had made a smart move, or a move that would bankrupt me. For the third time in 13 years, I had placed everything I owned on the line, risking everything, in order to build a business.
A couple of years into this, I came up with a bright idea for a new
kind of mud pump, a fundamentally necessary pump used on water well drill rigs. I spent my entire life savings to date (just $30,000.00), building a prototype of the pump and took it to the national water well convention to show it off. Customers immedi
What is a simple, inexpensive way for me to find a leak in my water line without digging up my whole yard?
I know I have a leak in my main water line somewhere under my yard from the water main in the street to my house (because when I turn off the water to the house itself, the water meter still spins). The plumber wants to dig up my entire yard with a backhoe and charge me thousands of dollars to find the darn leak. That strikes me as using a rocket when a BB gun would do as well. Isn’t there any simpler, less expensive way of finding a leak ?
Litter Box question.?
I adopted a cat that had kittens 3 wks ago. Well I no she can no longer use clumping litter at the moment for fear the kittens might eat some and cause and impaction. Well I think she is trying to tell me she does not like the normal clay litter. (I use Tidy Cat) She is now doing her number 2 outside the box. And she feels like she has to paw out all the litter when she is in there. I have 3 boxes for her and she is the only cat besides her babies. And I clean the boxes twice daily. I just scooped and can hear now pawing again and I know there is nothing in it. She is like a Backhoe. I might not survive till the kittens are old enough for clumping. Any suggestions anybody.

Wild Baby bunny emergency, please help!?
I have two baby rabbits. I need some tips for taking care of them. I know what your thinking, they should be with their mother, but my dad was at work and there was a backhoe loading whiterock into a dumptruck and they were in the white rock and then the dump truck dumped the whiterock and a backhoe was loading the whiterock and that is when they discovered the baby rabbits so he put them in his shirt pocket and brought them home. They have a few cuts on their legs. I have been feeding them with replacement milk and rubbing their hineys with a warm washcloth to get them to use the bathroom. They do not have their eyes open yet. Any tips?
I don’t know of any rehabilitation centers around here. I would appreciate tips. If they’ve made it through all of that…I think they have at least a slight chance. They are eating well and breathing well.
Can I charge a company for leaving their equipment on my property without permission, or charge with a crime?
A company left their backhoe in the middle of my resort property. Rendering me unable to use it. Can I charge them for the 3 days of storage, or bring them up on charges?
It is the resort’s backhoe. They put a sewer cleanout on my property, not the property line, without my permission, did not replace the rocks, after doing work for the day, just left the equipment on my property for 3 days. They own the property next door they should have left it there. Then charged me 75 to mow my grass (less than 4 square feet) My neighbor came out and told them he would mow it and did so. They still charged me. They told me it was my problem.

Is amnesty for illegals just a legalized invasion of the USA?
People say illegals take jobs Americans refuse to do.
They ask, would Americans use hand shovels in the hot sun to dig a hole in the ground like the illegals do?
NO! Americans are smart enough to use a TRACTOR to dig a hole, with a sun shade over the operator’s seat. Americans don’t refuse to work, they just refuse to work STUPID.
But when the contractor wants to dig a hole, all he does is drive around to the parking lot where crowds of illegals stand around waiting for work. He doesn’t have to pay minimum wage to illegals, so he can set his own price. So he can ALWAYS undercut the guy with the backhoe by hiring a half dozen illegal with shovels to do the same job by hand cheaper.
Honest American workers are being put out of work by people who work stupider, because they’re doing it illegally.
What happens when the illegals get citizenship just for being here?
Can the contractor keep paying them below minimum wage?
Or does the backhoe operator suddenly become more affordable, when the contractor can’t just round up a dozen illegals cheaper?
Then all the former illegals go on welfare when they suddenly can’t find work anymore, thanks to the minimum wage laws.
But you can bet they’ll rush out and vote Democrat, because they heard the backhoe operator is a Republican.
Will Americans tolerate this legalized invasion of the USA from a foreign nation?
